Game Night: the Return Edition

The hockey world sees two big comebacks tonight; Bryan McCabe returns to Toronto, and Cat Scratch returns to the blog-o-sphere. Let's hope both returns end triumphantly.

Yes, my few but passionate readers, I have returned from the honeymoon in the Great White North. While I've been gone, it seems the Panthers have taken a leave of absence themselves, posting a 1-3-2 record. This has seen the Cats fall to 10th in the East, 3 points behind 8th seed Buffalo.

The story tonight is the return of banished former Leaf Bryan McCabe to Maple Leaf Gardens... I mean, Air Canada Centre. Last year while with Toronto, McCabe became the scapegoat for the Leafs abysmal season and was promptly shipped off to South Florida. McCabe has found his feet nicely in Sunrise. He's 5th on the team in points (7 G, 11 A, 18 P) and has posted a tidy +7.

Toronto is only 2 points behind the Panthers, making this game slightly more meaningful. The Leafs have had problems stopping the puck all year, which could bode well for the Panthers. The Leafs did win their last game, a 3-1 win in the battle of Ontario. Tomas Vokoun will be back in net after Craig Anderson got the start in the previous 2 games. Puck drops at 7:30.

Welcome back. You didn't miss much before this weekend, but I sure missed reading your synopses. I hope the married life is all it's cracked up to be and that the new Mrs. Cat Scratch allows you to watch (and blog about) the Panthers regularly.
