I'm unfortunately about to head off to work, so I'll keep it brief. I'll be struggling to see much of today's game, thanks to my work schedule.
The Panthers welcome in the Atlanta Thrashers to South Florida today for an afternoon affair. The Panthers are 3-0-1 since the calender flipped to 2009 and hope to continue their winning ways against an Atlanta team that's struggled much of this season. The Thrashers did manage an impressive 4-0 win over New Jersey in their last game, but will be trying to win consecutive games for the first time since early November.
Tomas Vokoun will start in net again, and is looking more and more like he's regained his starter's role. If the Panthers hope to climb back into the playoff picture, they need to get 2 points from teams below them, such as Atlanta. If the win Thursday over Carolina was huge, this one is just as big. Can't go wasting points, now. Puck drops at 1.
